The other day I had an epiphany. Here’s the whole story:

About 9 months ago I was in a car accident which totaled my car. Everyone came out unhurt, the air bags didn’t blow up but the car was done. Insurance gave me a good amount for the car but nevertheless, losing my means of transportation was pretty devastating and I had no one to blame other than myself. Eventually, thinking about the event wasn’t so devastating and I was comforted by the simple fact that everything is under God’s control and that this accident was part of his plan. Maybe he was teaching me humility, perseverance or removing situations in which I could be in danger.

A few weeks ago, while riding the Go bus home from school I realized that I could use this opportunity to share the Gospel. There were dozens of people around me who could not move for at least 30 mins and I’m on the bus twice a week. These are perfect opportunities that I’ve been missing out on.

It wasn’t until yesterday that I connected the two events. It was only because I had totaled the car that I would be riding the Go bus. That is the only way I would have received these opportunities. Consequently, I now have no doubt that everything is part of God’s plan. It may have taken me a couple months to see it, but nonetheless, his control is strong in my life. He is my Lord.
